Cassie Cacace
Cassandra “Cassie” Cacace (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Cacace is the current Community Engagement Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Department (since August 2023). She primarily teaches at the University Center of Greenville campus and part of the Converse University MMFT Department since August 2023.
Dr. Cacace is also the Faculty Liaison for the MMFT Alumni Committee. Dr. Cacace is licensed in South Carolina and Florida. She owns and operates a small private practice, Palmetto Therapy Connections, LLC, and provides teletherapy to clients in both States. This practice is registered with the Upstate LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor through the Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Scholarly & Research Activity
Dr. Cacace’s research focuses on mental and relational wellness in healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and first responders who face considerable stigma. She is interested in the ideas of Dr. Murray Bowen on how anxiety shows up in larger systems, organizations, and societal processes. Dr. Cacace also has a growing interest in creative arts therapy, as well as religious trauma.

Teaching Experience
Dr. Cacace teaches Individual Psychopathology, Basic Techniques of the Psychotherapy Interview, and Advanced Models II. She is a clinical supervisor during the Fall, January, Spring and Summer terms.
