Converse’s MiM in Community Advocacy consists of 10 classes (30 total credit hours) of coursework in core and advanced areas. Converse’s MiM in Community Advocacy consists of ten classes involving reading, discussion of, and writing about community issues involving human rights, social and economic justice. The first two courses you take will provide a foundation for the principles of community advocacy, the third course will address self-care in stressful occupations, and course four will provide a leadership perspective. The remaining courses will explore techniques for dealingwith specific populations.
The program culminates with a capstone project where you will integrate the knowledge and skills you gained through coursework to plan a solution for a local advocacy issue.
